Al Ghurair Shopping Center has given a new definition to shopping experience. The mall has broken all convention rules and has given a new interior design to its shops. The interior of the mall is a combination of traditional culture and modern style.
The Al Ghurair family built Al Ghurair Shopping Center, in 1981, as the first purpose-built shopping mall in Dubai. The mall has set up new standards in regional retail business. Al Ghurair Shopping Center has played an important role in fulfilling the shopping needs of local population and foreign tourists every year.
Al Ghurair Shopping Center is spread over 300,000sq. ft. of retail space The mall has 250 stores, 350 apartments and 150 thousand sq. ft. of offices on two levels. The mall also houses an eight-screen Grand Cinecity cinema. It also has a number of eating outlets, the latest being Food Court. Seafood is the main specialty of this Food Court.
Al Ghurair Mall features wall-to-wall glass facades so that consumers can easily view their desired goods. This mall is considered as shopper's paradise as most of the goods are reasonably priced. The center offers a wide range of shopping possibilities. The main products of the mall are clothes and perfumes. But the complex also has the largest bookstore in Middle East.
The shopping center also includes multi-storey car parking. It can accommodate about 2,000 cars at a time. Sky bridges connect the mall and the parking area. They provide shoppers a direct entry to the complex.
Al Ghurair Mall is conveniently located at the end of Riqqa Road at Deira. Thousands of people come to Al Ghurair Shopping Center to get a different shopping experience. The mall is ranked among the top five tourist attractions in Dubai |

Burjuman is one of the most popular shopping centres of Dubai. Its located at the intersection of the Trade Center Road and Khalid Bin Waleed Street in Bur Dubai. The shopping mall is open Saturday to Thursday from 1000 hrs to 2200 hrs. On Friday it opens from 1600 hrs to 2200 hrs.
Not every one can afford shopping at Burjuman because of expensive stuff here. So the target market is mostly the elite class. Most of world's high class brands have their presence at Burjuman. But still there are some shops where a budget traveler can go for shopping.
Food court at Burjuman is one of the best in Dubai. It has Pakistani, Indian, Persian, American, Chinese, Thai, Lebanese, Japanese and Middle East's cusine available. Its timings are 1000 hrs to 2330 hrs from Saturday to Thursday. On Friday these are from 1600 hrs to 2330 hrs.
From lively restaurants and chic cafes to the many dishes on offer at the international food court. At Deira City Centre, you can travel the infinite variety of global cuisine, whilst guaranteeing one consistent standard of quality, value and friendly efficient service.
Every thing, that you can think of, is available in Burjuman Centre. Books, good, furnishing, clothes, sports equipment, electronics, beauty products, flowers, shoes, toys, perfumes, jewellery and a lot more. The best time for shopping is during sales period. And the best deals are during Ramadan when prices are reduced even to 70% off so you can buy all expensive branded stuff easily.
All basic facilities like underground parking, telephone, postal services, currency exchange, ATM, rest rooms, car wash, prayer rooms, baby strollers, wheelchairs, mother and child centre etc are available. One thing that I liked the most is that on every floor they have traditional Arab tents with sofa seats to relax.Gift wrap facility is also available free of cost at Customer Service counter. I would strongly recommend you to pay a visit to Burjuman next time for shopping. Prices are fixed so there is no game of bargaining. Its so simple!!

Deira City Centre, located near to the waterfront in Deira is one of Dubais and my own favourites. A mall with atmosphere, especially on weekends Deira City Centre has a buzzing shopping vibe that makes it a really fun place to shop.
The mall is spread over three floors, with over 350 stores. You will find fashion (all the big names), electronics, entertainment in Magic Planet or the 11 screen cinema Cinestar, a huge supermarket, a total of 40 different restaurants and cafes, 33 jewellery stores and textiles, such as silks and cashmere. The whole of the mall has Wi-Fi, so you can work and play at the same time.
What I like most about Deira City Centre is the friendly service of the actual mall staff and the way the mall treats its customers. One friendly guy whilst we were studying the map trying to locate the food mall came and pointed it out and gave us a free bottle of water. Then whilst we were waiting for the taxis at the end of our trip, a couple of staff came round with a trolley full of water for all those in the queue. Its those little touches. There are also free hotel shuttle buses running to 11 different hotels around Deira. |
